Day to day Itinerary for this program

Day 1: Nairobi:

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Meet Holiday Kenya Safari representative and transferred to Norfolk hotel. On arrival, are received with a complimentary welcome cocktail, bouquet of flowers, and checked in at honeymooners’ suite on all meals. Overnight NORFOLK HOTEL

Day 2: Nairobi-Amboseli

After breakfast, you are transferred to Wilson Airport for a Domestic flight to Amboseli National Park - at the foot of the snow –capped Mount Kilimanjaro. Famous for its large population of elephants, the park has wide variety of wild animals. Apart from game viewing you can visit the Masai people in their traditional homes – the Manyatta. All meals and overnight at TORTILIS LUXURY TENTED CAMP (B, L, D)

Day 3: Full day at Amboseli

Morning and evening game viewing alongside the magnificent snow blanketed mountain. It provides a great background for herds of elephants, giraffes, gazelle and pride of lions. The lodge provides a good pool overlooking a watering hole where different animals and birds visit. All meals and overnight at TORTILIS LUXURY TENTED CAMP (B, L, D).

Day 4: Amboseli - Nairobi - Aberdare National Park

After breakfast, you are transferred to the Airstrip for a Domestic flight to Nairobi. Then your safari continue by road taking you North through the lush and tea and coffee plantations around the Aberdare and Mount Kenya mountains,  to The Ark hotel, for a night of game watching.  Animals come to the floodlit water hole overlooked by the hotel terrace. This is pure theatre – and a great way to introduce you to your safari. Lunch is at the Aberdare Country Club. (The lodge’s own transport is used to transfer you to and from The Ark Hotel; heavy luggage is stored at the Outspan Hotel and you carry your overnight bag to Treetops). All meals and overnight at THE ARK HOTEL (B, L, D).

Day 5: Aberdare – Sweetwater’s Sanctuary

After breakfast, your safari takes you further North again through the lush and tea and coffee plantations, Across the Equator line to the famous Olpajeta Ranch that houses Sweetwater’s Sanctuary.  You arrive at your Tented Camp around noon; and in the late afternoon, you go on a game drive in the park.  All meals and overnight at SWEETWATERS TENTED CAMP (B, L, D).

Day 6:  Sweetwater’s Chimpanzee Sanctuary:

The chimp sanctuary is the only one of its kind in Kenya. Visitors can enjoy the unique opportunity of observing the chimps by boat on the Uwasi Nyiro River. The riverine forest and the savannah grassland of the sanctuary are home to 26-orphaned chimps. Here one has the opportunity to meet with Poco, who spent six years of his life imprisoned in a small birdcage suspended from a roof, a garage. Now Poco is a handsome, contented chimp, able to explore his habitat. All meals and overnight at SWEETWATERS TENTED CAMP (B, L, D).

Day 7: Lake Nakuru National Park

After break fast, drive to Lake Nakuru National Park for Lunch and game drive in the park. The lake is home for millions of Pink Flamingoes. After a game drive Continue to Lake Naivasha – the highest and purest of the Great Rift Valley lakes. This area is famous for its birdlife – a breeding ground for pelicans, fish eagles, cormorants and more. You will also find other animals such as hippos, zebra, antelopes and Columbus monkeys

All meals and overnight at THE GREAT RIFT VALLEY LODGE (B, L, D).

Day 8: Masai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast, enjoy a boat ride in Lake Naivasha. Then transfer to Nairobi for an afternoon Domestic flight to Masai Mara Game Reserve. On arrival you are met by the lodges driver guide starting a game drive to view the Big Five and other game in the magnificent scenery of the Mara famous for the wildebeest and Zebra migration and its abundance of resident wildlife. All meals and overnight at KICHWA TEMBO TENTED CAMP (B, L, D).

Day 9 & 10: Masai Mara Game Reserve

Today is taken up with early morning and evening game drives – both with superb photographic opportunities to capture the stately back-manned lion, elephant and various plains game. The day time is free to relax in the lodge and enjoy the available facilities. All meals and overnight at KICHWA TEMBO TENTED CAMP (B, L, D).

Day 11:  Nairobi

You depart for Nairobi by morning flight. Upon arrival you have lunch at Carnivore Restaurant. Visit Karen Blixen and Giraffe Center. Later you are transferred to your hotel for overnight stay. Dinner will be on at the hotel.  NORFOLK HOTEL (B, L, D). 

Day 12: Depart

After breakfast transfer to Airport for your departure flight.

-       Reservations falling on December 24, – January 02, are subject to Christmas and New Year Supplements of US$45 per person per night in all lodges.
