SAMBURU >>   3 Days Samburu Game Reserve. 

A safari to the northern part of Kenya crossing the Equator via the high shoulder of Mount Kenya to the Samburu Game Reserve. Here the Ewaso Nyiro River supports a wide variety of game among them elephant, buffalo, cheetah leopard, lion, grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, oryx and the long necked gerenuk. This park is popular for the 3 cats namely Lion, Cheater and Leopard.

Day to day Itinerary for this program

Day 1: Nairobi -   Samburu game reserve
Pick up from your hotel at 0730 hrs and passing the majestic Mt. Kenya en route to the open savannah of Samburu Game Reserve arriving at your lodge in good time for lunch. Here we find vegetation of palms and woodland by the Ewaso Nyiro River which provides water for the animals and some relief from the equatorial sun. Late afternoon game drives followed by dinner and overnight at Samburu Serena Lodge or alternative.

Day 2: Samburu game reserve
Full day in Samburu with morning and afternoon game drive. Available optional activities includes: visit to Samburu villages and Guided Nature Walk.
Meals and overnight at Samburu Serena lodge or Similar.

The highlights of Samburu game reserve is the spectacular scenic beauty, rivers and forests. It is an area where the local people have a rich and colorful heritage. The reserves have numerous permanent springs and a wealth of wildlife which includes leopard, hippo, elephant, lion, reticulated giraffe, grevy’s zebra and crocodile in the Ewaso Nyiro River. Over 365 species of birds have been identified in the sanctuaries.

Day 3: Samburu - Nairobi;
Breakfast at the lodge. Depart for Nairobi with game drive en-route.

Arrive Nairobi at lunch hour and drop off at a place of your choice.

Notes:

-       Minimum 2 people.

-       Reservation done for a group of more than 4 people traveling together will attract a discount of US$115 on the Adult rates.

-       Reservations falling on December 24, 2009 – January 02, 2010 are subject to Christmas and New Year Supplements of US$ 45 per person per night.
