Nairobi - Mount Kenya – Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara

Spend a night in Nairobi before crossing the country through Kikuyu countryside to the lower slopes of Mt. Kenya with an option of hiking to Mau Mau Caves. The tour will then take you to the floor of the Greet Rift Valley for a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. The highlight of the tour is Masai Mara Game Reserve.  Blessed with an astounding year round concentration of animals and the climax of the phenomenal Great Migration, Masai Mara Reserve provides a wildlife experience unsurpassed in the world. Covering an area of 1 510 km² in southwestern Kenya, the Masai Mara is a land of breathtaking vistas, abundant wildlife and endless plains dotted with shukka-draped Maasai.

Day to Day Safari Itinerary - [10 Days / 09 Nights]


Day 1: Arrive Nairobi.
Arrival at Jomo Kenya International Airport. You will be met by our local representative and transferred to the Boulevard Hotel or similar. Rest of the day is free for orientation and Safari briefing. Overnight stay at Boulevard Hotel (Bed and breakfast)

Day 2: Nairobi – Mount Kenya
After breakfast at the Hotel, commence the drive North through Central Kenya to the lower slopes of Mount Kenya. You arrive at your lodge good time for lunch. Later in afternoon you will depart with your guide to the interior of Mt. Kenya forests in search of Mau Mau caves. Mau Mau caves are the caves which where used as hideout by local freedom fighters who fought the Kenyan independence during colonial period. The forests boost of big wealth of birdlife thus offering a good chance to bird lovers. You will return to you camp site before the elephants start their search for food. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Rock (Full Board)

Day 3: Mount Kenya – Lake Nakuru

After leisure breakfast bid farewell to Mt. Kenya and drive west wards to Nyahururu, still known to many as Thomson's fall for its 237 foot cascade.

After a brief stopover, travel in a southerly direction to your next destination - Lake Nakuru, on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. The Lake is usually dotted with pink flamingoes lining its shores. You will check-in at your hotel for lunch - a quality hotel for budgeters. Afternoon games drive in the park in search of leopards, lions, rhinos, giraffe s and not mention million of flamingoes at the shore of the lake. You will return to your hotel for dinner & overnight at Hotel Genevieve or Alternative (Full Board).


Day 4: Lake NaKuru –Masai Mara
Early breakfast at your hotel. Then depart proceed southwards before turning right at Maai Mahiu to ascend up over the top of the Mau Escarpment heading to Masai Mara Game Reserve. Masai Mara crown’s the climax of every safari in Kenya for its breathtaking views, wildlife and birdlife wealth. It boarder’s Serengeti to the north and supports a huge number of game e.g. large herds of elephant, rhino, giraffe, buffalo and their predators abound e.g. lion, leopard, crocodile etc and not to mention the spectacular annual migration of wildebeests, zebras, gazelles.

 

Lunch will be served en-route at Narok Town before arriving at Mara. Your accommodation for the next two nights will be at one of the excellent permanent campsite with good facilities as such big permanent tents, dinning tent, hot shower, beds etc. Dinner and overnight at Mara Springs Tented Camp (Full Board)

 

Day 05: Masai Mara Game Reserve.

The day will start with an early morning game drive before dawn and later return to your camp for breakfast and relax for the rest of morning. Perhaps take a dip at the swimming pool at one of the lodges situated next to our campsite at your cost. Later enjoy a late afternoon return to the wilderness in search of games, all meals and overnight at our permanent campsite Mara Springs Tented Camp (Full Board)

 

Day 06: Masai Mara - Nairobi

Soon after breakfast, with game drive en route drive back to Nairobi with lunch en-route arriving mid afternoon. Overnight at Boulevard Hotel (Bed and breakfast)

 

Day 07: Depart Nairobi

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for scheduled International departure flight.
